Speaking of Tintin...

I find it quite amusing, and fitting, that given the recent talk of Tintin on blogspot recently, that today's edition of The Globe and Mail, should feature this lighthearted article on everyone's favourite intrepid journalist. Click to read: "Ouch! Researchers tackle Tintin's traumas".

Seems people can research anything these days...

It did seem like tintin was constantly getting hit on the head. That or chloroformed.

You know, it's kind of the same with the Sharpe movies and books--how many times does that man get shot in the leg? I was doing research on early 19th century medical technology last year, and seriously, he should have died about 8 times.

I always wanted to be chloroformed...I remember my brother I having a discussion about if we had the chance we'd like to get chloroformed.... Now I really know nothing about it and its effects, I just think it’s so cool. It would be right up there with knocking someone out by karate chopping them with a single blow on the shoulder

Yes! I've always wanted to do that. In grade 8 Michael and some other friends and I were up late watching an old Star Trek episode (called Dagger of the Mind) where this guy who we named "Dr. Oogle" did the one karate chop to knock a guy out. For some reason we were so impressed with this and it became a long standing inside joke known as the "Oogle Manouever".

Well, if we're in the realm of Star Trek, I think the whole "Vulcan nerve pinch" thing would be pretty cool, too (I've been living with my sister too long . . . )
